Welcome to the Pentagon Partnership

Pentagon Partnership is the strategic partnership for third sector involvement in the economic regeneration of Tyne and Wear.

Hosted by North Tyneside VODA as a single-worker project and supported by a steering group of third sector support organisations, community networks and other partners from across Tyne and Wear, Pentagon aims to encourage sustainability and enterprise in the third sector, working with a range of partners to share good practice around enterprise, collaboration, asset development, public service delivery and impact measurement.

We also act as the interface between the third sector and the Tyne & Wear City Region, a cross-sector partnership formed in an effort to address some of the key challenges – such as generating more sustainable economic prosperity and delivering greater economic inclusion – facing Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Durham.

We carry out our functions in three ways:

  • Capacity Building – increasing the business awareness and partnership-readiness of the sector with as series of free events, wherever possible held in third sector venues across Tyne and Wear.

  • Consultation and Representation – giving the sector a say on City Region policies, facilitating and supporting the third sector representation on decision making partnerships.

  • Information – informing the sector of the latest policy developments and opportunities for increased sustainability.

Places for Everyone workshops in October and November

Places for Everyone is an exciting programme designed to help third sector organisations explore and progress their capital development plans. If your future aspirations involve a building project – perhaps a refurbishment or new build or you are interested in finding out more about the process involved then Places for Everyone may be just what you’re looking for.

Developed by PNE Development, the Development Trusts Association (DTA), Mosedale Gillatt Architects (MGA) and Pentagon Partnership, and supported by One North East, the programme features a range of support options including:

  • Workshops
  • One-to-One Support
  • Toolkits
  • Access to Specialist Expertise

For just a small cost of £50 +VAT (£58.75) you can access the programme. The initial phase of the programme consists of ‘An Introduction to the Capital Development Process’ workshop which will ultimately help guide Third Sector organisations through the key stages of any capital development project. The aim of the workshop is to help your organisation make informed decisions about its capital development plans. Following this you could access one-to-one support and specialist expertise to help you to move your plans forward. Along with the one-to-one support, the longer term aim of the programme is to help organisations to secure funding towards feasibility studies and enable access to our Bank of Expertise.

If you are interested in joining the programme please email development@pne.org for an application form or contact PNE Development on 0191 261 6009 for more information.
